Industrial Production Index published monthly by the TSI, the total production of industrial enterprises in Turkey is to provide information about change over time. [1]

In June, Turkey (TR) General Industrial Production Index in the previous month (May 2017) has decreased by 0.4 percent. The decrease in June (2017) was due to the 0.6 percent decrease in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning production and distribution and 0.5 percent decrease in manufacturing industry compared to the previous month.
When the main industrial groups are analyzed, it is observed that the decrease in the total industrial index was affected by the decrease in intermediate goods, durable consumer goods and non-durable goods (decreases of 2.2 percent, 1.9 percent and 1.3 percent, respectively).
The highest decrease in the sub-sectors of the manufacturing industry compared to the previous month was in the manufacture of tobacco products (7.3 percent). This was followed by the manufacture of pharmaceuticals and pharmaceuticals with 5.6 percent, and coke and refined petroleum products with 4.6 percent. The highest increase was in the manufacturing sector of computers, electronics and optical products with 29.1 percent.
The index increased by 3.4 percent compared to the same month of the previous year. In June (2017), the highest increase was 3.8 percent in the manufacturing industry compared to the previous year, followed by electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning production and distribution by 2.5 percent. Mining and quarrying sector decreased by 0.5 percent.
When the main industrial groups are analyzed, 11.4 percent in durable capital goods production, 2.9 percent in energy production, 2.6 percent in durable consumer goods production, 1.2 percent in intermediate goods production and non-durable goods production 0.7 percent increase.
