Retail sales volume remained flat compared to the previous month

Seasonally and calendar adjusted retail sales volume remained flat in December 2015 compared to the previous month. In the same month; while food, beverage and tobacco sales decreased by 1.6%, non-food sales (excluding automotive fuel) increased by 0.1% and automotive fuel sales increased by 1.6%.

When the change in non-food sectors compared to the previous month is examined; sales of computers, books and communication devices increased by 0.9%, electrical goods and furniture sales decreased by 1.7%, textile, clothing and footwear sales increased by 1.9%, medical products and cosmetics sales decreased by 0.2%, mail or internet sales increased by 2.5%.

Retail sales volume increased by 3.7% compared to the same month of the previous year

Calendar adjusted retail sales volume increased by 3.7% in December 2015 compared to the same month of the previous year. In the same month; food, beverage and tobacco sales increased by 3.3%, non-food sales (excluding automotive fuel) increased by 0.2% and automotive fuel sales increased by 12.7%.

When the change in non-food sectors compared to the same month of the previous year is examined; sales of computers, books and communication devices decreased by 1.4%, electrical goods and furniture sales increased by 1.8%, textile, clothing and footwear sales increased by 2.4%, medical products and cosmetics sales increased by 1.2%, postal or internet sales decreased by 12.1%.

Retail turnover increased by 1.3% compared to the previous month

Seasonally and calendar adjusted retail turnover at current prices increased by 1.3% in December 2015 compared to the previous month. In the same month; food, beverage and tobacco sales remained unchanged, non-food sales (excluding automotive fuel) increased by 0.3% and automotive fuel sales increased by 5.1%.

Retail turnover increased by 10.7% compared to the same month of the previous year

Retail turnover at current prices adjusted for calendar effects increased by 10.7% in December 2015 compared to the same month of the previous year. In the same month; food, beverages and tobacco sales increased by 12.2%, non-food sales (excluding automotive fuel) increased by 10.2%, and automotive fuel sales increased by 9.7%.

Retail sales volume increased by 1.4% QoQ

Seasonal and calendar adjusted retail sales volume adjusted for 2015 IV. increased by 1.4% in the quarter compared to the previous quarter. Calendar adjusted retail sales volume increased by 3.5% compared to the same quarter of the previous year and increased by 3.6% in 2015 compared to the previous year.

Retail turnover increased by 3.6% QoQ

Seasonal and calendar adjusted retail turnover at current prices 2015 IV. quarter of the year compared to the previous quarter increased by 3.6%. Calendar-adjusted retail turnover increased by 9.2% compared to the same quarter of the previous year and increased by 6.8% in 2015 compared to the previous year.

DESCRIPTIONS

The calendar effect was not observed in the “automotive fuel” indices. Therefore, “unadjusted” series are used instead of “calendar adjusted” series.
