Consumer Price Index (CPI) -January 2016
In January, CPI increased by 1.82% compared to December 2015. The index increased by 9.58% compared to the same month of the previous year.
By main expenditure groups
9.6% in Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco Group
Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages Group 4.28%
Miscellaneous Goods and Services Group increased by 2.71%
6.71% decrease in Clothing and Footwear Group
Monthly change in CPI in the TR32 sub-region of Denizli, which is 1.51%, and the main Expenditure Groups with increasing rates are as follows:

TEPAV Retail Confidence Index (TEPE)
Retail Confidence has been increasing since October 2015.
TEPE, which was 1.5 in January, increased by 1.6 points compared to the previous month and increased by 12.2 points compared to the same period of the previous year and TEPE was re-positive in January 2016 for the first time since December 2013.
Balance of Sales Expectations for the Next 3 Months decreased by -7.2 points in January 2016 compared to the previous month and increased by 1.9 points compared to the same month of the previous year. In January 2016, 37.2% of TEPE survey participants expect improvement in their business in the next 3 months, while 24.4% expect deterioration in their business. The rate of those who did not expect a change in their jobs was 38.4%.
Jobs compared to the same period last year increased by 8.2 points compared to December 2015 and 15.4 points compared to January 2015. In January 2016, 25.8% of the TEPE survey participants reported an increase in their work compared to the same period of the previous year, and 47% of those who indicated a decrease in their business. 27.2% stated that there was no change in their works compared to the previous year.

The EU-28 Retail Confidence Index became 4.8 in January 2016. Retail confidence in the EU-28 decreased by 1.2 points compared to the previous month and increased by 3.2 points compared to the same period of the previous year. Turkey, compared to the same period last year, showed better performance than the EU-28 and Euro Zone.
